Made in England · 100% Pure British Wool · Traditional Roll Neck

The Klaver Submariner is a woollen jumper with a purpose.

Knitted from 100% Pure British Wool, this traditional roll neck takes its design from the heavy wool jumpers issued to Royal Navy personnel during the Second World War.

The high roll neck provides warmth around the neck, while the deep ribbed hem and turn-back cuffs help keep out cold air. The longer body and substantial wool construction give this jumper the dependable, protective feel that made the original Submariner such an enduring piece of British naval knitwear.

Simple, practical and built for cold conditions, it is a piece of clothing whose design has changed very little because it never really needed to.

That original purpose still defines the jumper today.

The white woollen submariner's jumper became an unmistakable part of Royal Navy submarine clothing during the Second World War.

Knitted in heavy wool, with a high polo neck and deep ribbed cuffs and hem, it was designed to provide warmth in the cold, confined conditions aboard a submarine.

These weren't simply details of style. The close-fitting neck and substantial wool construction helped keep the wearer warm in cold working conditions.

The design became closely associated with the submariner's identity, setting him apart from the wider Royal Navy.

Warm, practical and unmistakable. A piece of naval working clothing that has stood the test of time.
