OUR ETHOS
INSPIRED BY WORKING LIFE. MADE FOR EVERYDAY LIFE.
Thoughtful products, honest materials and enduring style. Things worth wearing, made to last.
CLEAVER BANK is built around a simple idea: make interesting things, and make them well.
We're drawn to clothing with a purpose. Pieces shaped by work, weather, necessity and everyday life. From Britain's fishing communities to the kit that has quietly done its job for generations, there's inspiration in things made to be used.
We take those influences and make them our own. Not museum pieces or period reproductions, but contemporary clothing with soul. Familiar, useful, considered and never afraid of a little character.
BILT-TO-LAST
We believe in buying better and wearing things for longer. That means paying attention to materials, construction, fit and the people who make our products.
Where possible, we work with British makers and manufacturers, choosing British-made products and materials where they make sense. We value traditional skills, honest materials and the knowledge that comes from doing something properly.
Not every product is made in the same way or in the same place. We'd rather be clear about where things come from, what they're made from, and why we've chosen them.
FOR EVERYBODY
Clothing should be something people enjoy wearing, not something they feel they have to fit into.
We don't believe good clothing needs to be divided by gender, or that personal style should follow rules. We want to make pieces people choose because they like them, feel good in them, and can make them their own.
For everybody is an attitude as much as a principle: welcoming, unpretentious and open-minded.
BUY LESS. CHOOSE WELL. WEAR IT OUT.
We're interested in the long haul, not the next trend. Our core products are intended to earn a permanent place in the collection, rather than disappear when the season changes. We'll add new ideas, but the aim is always to make thoughtful choices.
We're a small independent business, and we want to keep it that way in spirit: curious, hands-on and accountable for what we put our name to.
We won't get everything right, and we won't pretend to. But we'll keep asking the questions that matter: Is it well made? Is it worth the money? Will someone still want to wear it years from now?
If the answer is yes, we're on the right track.
